Somewhere in Paris, Wednesday Afternoon

It was cold.  There was snow.  In July.

Rikku and Dōjima greatly disapproved of this situation, even with cute penguins. 

Which was probably why they had grabbed a portal and gone back to Paris, with the intention of seeing exactly how much damage they could inflict on the shopping districts with some quality Girl Time. 

Pity the poor shopgirls.

"Ano, Rikku," Dōjima said, grinning as she flipped through the rack, "What do you think, black or pink?"

Dōjima shrieked and grabbed her phone, holding it away from Rikku as she laughed. "No way!"

Then it beeped at her, and she eyed it warily before flipping it open to check her message. "Well now, your boy isn't the only one being nosy."

"Come onnnnnnnn," she laughed, holding her hand out. "Fair's fair! He's being nosy, so you should give him an answer. And he needs to see what he's missing out on, so he and Reno can suffer together!"

Because torturing your significant other was fun, that was why.

"He's just asking where I am, not what I'm wearing," she protested as she handed the phone over to Rikku. "We are gonna be sooooooo dead."

Grinning, she shook her hair out and stuck a provocative pose, letting one of the little sleeves slide down a bit. "Go for it, maestro!"

Rikku clicked the picture and punched in Romeo's number. "Sent!" she giggled. "He should appreciate getting a sneak-preview. They can tell us which ones they like. It's like virtual shopping, except dirtier."

She peeled herself out of the basque-thing with some relief, eying a white-and-blue lacy bra and panties set. "These next," she decided. "I like the little ribbon on them. Kinda elegant, a little fun."

"The anticipation will just make them happier to see us when we get back," she answered cheerfully, reclaiming her phone to check the picture. "Oooh, niiiiice picture. Thanks, Rikku."

"That? Very elegant and classy," she agreed, picking out something, well, slightly more naughty than nice. "It says you're a lady, and he damn well better behave accordingly."

"Plus maybe it'll trick him into thinking I am one," she said, eyes dancing as she tugged on the panties. "I can act all refined and then be very 'well, are you just gonna stand there, or what?'"

Which ... totally wouldn't happen, because that kinda implied Reno would be hanging out over there while she was dressed in lingerie, and ... yeah.

She looked over at her friend's red-and-black piece and grinned. "Oh, man, that's awesome," she said. "..... I think maybe he needs to see that one, too."

Dōjima stuck her tongue as she twisted around to look in the mirror. "You seriously think Red's gonna stand still while you prance around like that? You're gonna have to tie that boy to the bed, if you don't want to get tackled."

"Handcuffs work better," Rikku said, with the best innocent face she could muster.

Well, they did.

"Say cheese," Rikku said, picking up Dojima's phone again and aiming. "I dunno why people say to say cheese, anyway. Maybe 'cause 'I look hot in this' takes too long?"

"Handcuffs only work better if you've got something immediate to attach them too. If you need reach, or less-noise, go for the silk scarves," Dōjima replied, equally innocently.

"Oh no you don't!" Grinning, she reached out to grab Rikku's arm and pull her into the picture. "If we're going to do this, we're going to do it right. Say sexy!"

"But then he'll see both of us!" Rikku said, giggling harder and flailing a little. "Unless we ... send a copy to each?"

Oh. There was a special hell for this sort of thing, wasn't there?

Maybe it'd have nice drinks?

Rikku grinned and tried to hold the cameraphone so it'd get both of them in the shot. "Sexy!"

"We're more covered than if we were wearing a bikini at the beach," Dōjima pointed out, putting one arm around the smaller girl's shoulders suggestively. "They can both have a copy, it'll make their year."

Yup, a special hell. It was going to be great.

"Oh my gosh, they're gonna kill us," Rikku said, cracking up. "Wait, is that one yours or mine?" She pointed to the red fringed matching set in Dojima's pile, and noticed her own pair peeking out a few feet away. "Ooooh, I think we each grabbed that one."

Pause.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

"I dunno, Pinky or whatever the meta would be, we might need more llamas to pull it off," she teased. "I knew that sweet and cute routine was all just an act, you're evil."

"YES."

Her phone beeped again, and Dōjima grinned as she read "Awww...I think someone liked the gold picture you took!"

"Awwwww, how sweet," she giggled. "I can't follow the Japanese bits, but I'm guessing it's kinda close to this."

She sighed, shaking her head. "They're not even offering any interesting bribes. They totally deserve whatever evil we cook up."

Ooooh, this red thing was nifty. "You know, I used to be sweet and innocent. This is all Reno's fault, really."

"Yeah, like I'm gonna believe that," Dōjima snorted, shutting her phone. "Girls like us don't turn naughty overnight, we're born this way."

Red thing, red thing, she had a lot of red things...oh! "He's saying it's pretty, and wants to know where I am. Yeah, no bribe? No answer!"

"Maybe," she shrugged. "I, uh. Was always the pounce-y kinda one, before? I think I scared him a little." 'Him' not being Reno, there. And now was a good time to adjust her outfit instead of getting weirdly self-conscious and feeling like a ho, right? Rikku snapped the little suspender-things onto the red stockings and -- ooooh, very nice.

"We look awesome," she beamed. "This counts as incentive, for them to remember the whole bribe idea. Right?"

She looked at the camera and then at Dojima again. "Okay, uh, how do we want to do this, anyway?"

Dōjima rolled her eyes and placed the black and red corset in the pile for 'yes' as she shrugged on the new bra. "Your ex was a tool," she sang, adjusting the straps. "There's nothing sexier than a little aggressive self-confidence. Hot little thing like you pouncing? I'd go for that."

Crap, logistics. "Try to take the picture in the mirror?" she suggested, balancing precariously as she clipped on her own garters. "Or we could ask one of the shop girls to take it for us."

"He was shy," Rikku said loyally, "and I kinda rushed things, sometimes. It's okay. I mean, people have different timings, right? Reno's completely the other way around."

She blushed harder for the rest of it. "Are you ... you mean. Is that you teasing, or do you ... like girls and all that? I mean, and guys, too, I'm guessing."

Well. For Romeo's sake, she'd imagine it'd have to be a "both" sort of situation.

She considered the phone, and then held it out at arm's length, pointed back at them. "We can just get really close and hope?"

"No, you're right, everyone's got their own comfort level, and I shouldn't make fun of the repressed-boy." She still thought he was a tool, especially based on some of the other things Rikku had said.

She stopped fussing with the stockings and leaned against the wall, considering how to phrase her answer. "I was teasing," she said, a small smirk twitching at the corner of her mouth, "mostly."

"I like boys. I like boys a lot," Dōjima answered. "I just never saw a reason to turn down an interested playmate. Does that make sense?"

"Well, that, and in my society, it's rather frowned on, and I enjoy pissing off my father. Kissing girls is what got me tossed out of my last school, you know."

"No, it was frustrating," Rikku admitted with a frown. "I mean, if I'm faster and he's slower, that doesn't make him bad, but that doesn't make me bad either, right?"

She nodded at the rest of it. "It does. It, uh. I mean, some of the Al Bhed, they'll ... you know. You have two aunts, instead of an aunt and an uncle; the Yevonites cared about that kinda thing but we didn't. I just ... didn't know anybody that was both, until I got here. Jude was, and I kinda ... didn't get it, I guess."

Adjusting her own stockings so she didn't have to look up, she managed to blurt out the rest. "I keep kissing girls, whenever I'm not me. I don't know why, it just happens."

"No, it does not make you bad, Rikku." Kuso, she was going to wring this Canadiaiana-kid's neck if she ever got her hands on him. "Just different than him."

"I'm not exactly bi, sweetie, I'm more of a hedonist," she said, bemused. "I'm not normally attracted to girls, I just make an exception every now and then when I want company."

The blurting was cute, though, and Dōjima went to wrap her arms around Rikku in a very platonic hug. "Hey, now, there's nothing wrong with kissing girls. I'm of the firm opinion that sometimes? Girls kiss better than boys, because we know what we like. Besides, we're more cuddly, and have nice curves..."

"I get seriously impulsive," Rikku laughed, leaning back against Dojima. "And they do, they're kinda ... snuggly? And wow, Pops would kill me, if I were ... you-know. He's mad enough about me dating boys."

And that had been Jude, who was very chill and non-threatening. Who knew what Cid would make of Reno? That would be ... yeah. Messy.

She giggled, holding the camera out at arm's-length and grinning. "See? This makes for a nice shot, I bet."

Dōjima smirked at the camera as Rikku took the picture, leaning into the other girl a bit more. "They'll love it. I bet they're ripping up the campus trying to find us."

"Your pops isn't going to kill you," she said, reaching out to tweak her nose before starting to dig through her pile again. "He loves you, and he's right. Boys are always bad news. See what bad influences ours are on us?" Riiiiight. This was totally Romeo & Reno's fault.

"What next? Do we want to keep going with a theme?" she asked, holding up a black pinstripe corset. "Could be cute..."

"They'd better be!" Rikku laughed, bouncing on her toes. "If they're just sitting and going 'hey, that's a nice picture,' I'm gonna be hurt."

Right. Like Reno wasn't smashing down walls and hunting for them like some deranged predator. She believed that, seriously.

"Ooooh, it's like business-lingerie," she grinned. "I'll take the pink, you take the black?"

She was already shrugging out of the fancy red bra and reaching for the pinstriped pretties.

Shopping was awesome.
