The Phantasm Club [Tokyo, Sunday Evening]

The club was already packed, the young and beautiful population of Tokyo out to drink and dance the night away.

It had been chosen as a meeting place due to its central location, but it wasn't hard to see why it was one of Dōjima's favorite hangouts.

There was a private booth on the second-floor VIP area overlooking the dance floor, set back enough from the inhabitants wouldn't need to worry about eavesdroppers.

The bartenders are quick, efficient, and discreet. If you tip right, they'll make it a triple for the cost of a double.

Taking up the majority of the first floor, it was packed with other dancers. Loud, dark, with totally moddable music.

Every good club has at least one or two of these, perfect to steal a quiet moment or two.

Romeo had ordered his vodka tonic mixed at double strength, and he tossed back half of it in a single gulp before he was even fully settled in the booth.

He'd been drinking a lot, since the hunt yesterday. Smoking a lot too, and his smiles were forced even after his conversation with Reno provided some reassurance.

"So I suppose it's time to make merry," he offered, sounding anything but.

Romeo parked in the corner with a cigarette, watching for Dojima to pass near him. He had a question for her, and he wasn't sure it would keep until they were back in Maryland.

She had caught a glimpse of him when she had gone to the bathrooms, and she detoured towards him as she headed back to the booth. "Hey, you. What's a boy like you doing in a place like this?"

A smile crossed Romeo's face. "Hoping a girl like you would come along," he said. The flirting was routine, but it was still nice.

"Sit with me," he offered. "I'd like to talk."

"Talk?" she asked, keeping her tone light. "Normally when you get me alone in a dark corner, talking isn't high on your list."

"Hey, with enough sake, you can make just about anything you wanna," Reno mused, leaning back and shrugging. "Merry can be on that list, yo."

Reno had been drinking a lot since the hunt, too. But that wasn't anything new, for Reno.

After a bit more making merry, or whatever it was they were supposed to be doing here, Reno made his way to the bar. Maybe it was totally because he wanted to get himself some good booze.

Maybe it was more that the view outside was slightly better from here, and outside looked jarringly like places back home that probably wouldn't ever see neon lighting again.

"I can try to help with the merry," Rikku announced, ordering something strong and frou-frou from their waiter. "We can talk about what everyone else is wearing and why they shouldn't be."

This, from the girl who had thought all the people in the Harajuku district looked pretty awesome.

At least her current outfit matched, thanks to Dojima. Shopping had been fun. And had helped with the repressing, yes.

"I know, it's a waste of a good corner," Romeo replied. "We'll have to apologize to it for putting it to such a misuse."

He shifted, uncomfortable, and patted the bench to try to get her to sit.

Rikku didn't recognize the music, but it was loud and the beat was pumping and that was all she needed, really.

"I think I owe you a drink," said a voice behind him, and a moment later Dōjima was leaning over the bar to use her feminine wiles For Justice.

Justice just involved scoring a lot of booze.

Where booze was involved, Reno was totally a fan of justice.

He waited patiently for justice to be served in shot format, and then smirked over his shoulder at the bringer of justice, with a nod hello.

"Appreciate it, zoto."

"So you think they should all be naked?" Romeo teased. "That's rather a different sort of club, Rikku."

Okay. So, Reno was finally drunk enough, he could make his way out to the dance floor to pretend he was sober.

Really? He was just trying to get a better look at that green getup, the one that Rikku was wearing, in action.

It was nice. Nice in that very nice kinda way. And it matched. Which was... weird. He was torn. Clearly, the solution was to ogle some more.

"The cover charge is a whole shitload higher in those kinda joints," Reno agreed, sticking out his tongue and grinning.

She sighed and took a seat, leaning back against the wall.

"If you insist, I suppose," Dōjima drawled as she crossed her legs. "What's so important you want to talk here, of all places?"

"Hey, you earned it," she teased, raising her own shot to him. "Even if next time you're wearing the damn muzzle."

"What's so unimportant that you would make me wait?" Romeo asked. "Now is always the best time."

He shook his hair out of his eyes before continuing. "I am coming back with you after graduation, if you will let me."

"And the leash, zoto," Reno agreed, raising his glass in turn. "Can't forget the leash. That's half the fun, right there, ain't it?"

"Does naked mean no jewelry?" Rikku asked, sticking her tongue back out at Reno. "I mean. People get dressed up fancy and if you were all naked, everyone would kinda look the same, right?"

"Diiiiiiiiiiirty." Not that Dōjima minded. She just grinned and tossed back the contents of her glass. "There's some things about you I never wanna know, Red."
