Somewhere in Paris, Wednesday Afternoon

It was cold. There was snow. In July.

Rikku and Dōjima greatly disapproved of this situation, even with cute penguins.

Which was probably why they had grabbed a portal and gone back to Paris, with the intention of seeing exactly how much damage they could inflict on the shopping districts with some quality Girl Time.

Pity the poor shopgirls.

"Ano, Rikku," Dōjima said, grinning as she flipped through the rack, "What do you think, black or pink?"

Rikku clapped a hand over her mouth and tried to stifle the giggles.

"How did they even find us?" she whispered. "I mean, I don't know where we are!"

Being not from this world made her geography suck pretty hard.

"You think they're gonna be mad?"

She kiiiiinda had a feeling they wouldn't.

"I have no idea! You're the one dating super-spy dude, you tell me!" she replied, covering her own mouth to keep from laughing. "They don't look mad, Rikku."

Just, um, very very determined. Yes.

Very, very, very determined.

Reno was going to march right up to that dressing room door. And he was going to knock. And he was going to grin.

"Anyone in there? We been lookin' for this pair of girls? Been takin' hot pictures? Messin' up the display racks? I was hopin' you'd know where they got off to?"

Reno? Really didn't sound at all upset.

Rikku's eyes were huge. And she had to stop giggling if it meant biting her lip, hard.

Finally, she cleared her throat and lowered her voice, trying very very hard to sound like an irritated French shopper and not a giggly teenage girl.

"Excusez-moi, monsieur," she called out, in the worst French accent ever, "où est la salle de bains?"

Look, she didn't know any other French. She was just hoping Reno didn't know any, and didn't realize she'd asked him where the bathroom was.

Reno probably didn't, but Romeo did.

Even if it was bad French.

"If mademoiselle comes out, I will show you," he offered, in an equally terrible accent. And in English, because he was pretty sure Rikku wouldn't understand the French.

I think we're doomed, Dōjima mouthed silently, eyes wide.

Well, if you're going to go, go out in style.

Flipping her hair over her shoulder, Dōjima walked over and opened the door a crack, leaning against the frame and giving both of them her best smirk. "Ano, you boys offer to take strange girls to the bathroom very often?"

"All the time," Reno said. Nice and smooth.

It mostly managed to cover the shock he felt upon discovering that the discussion they were having had been about using the bathroom. He'd get over it.

Very quickly, given what the girls were up to.

"So nice of you two to tell us where you were hidin'," he added. With that grin of his. The very big, rather mischievous one.

Romeo was trying to keep his eyes in his head, thank you very much. The wristbands on Yurika's costume (he could scarcely call it an outfit) were just perfect, one of many perfect things.

"We ..." his mouth was dry, and he smiled to cover it ... "greatly appreciated the invitation," he agreed. "Do you come here often?"

And there was another blonde, squeezing her head under Dojima's arm and peering through the crack in the door.

"All the time," she said innocently. "Every week, we come here and take naughty pictures and send them to guys we like. Just happened to be you two, this time."

"Sometimes to girls we like, too," Dōjima said sweetly, settling her arm around Rikku's waist. "You just got lucky."

"Most of then don't make it this far, though, so I guess you two get a prize."

Somehow, despite the odds, Yurika managed to keep an angelic, innocent smile plastered on the whole time.

"There better be a prize," Reno cooed as he attempted to look past Dōjima to get a better look at what Rikku had on. "We had to portal all the way here from the South Pole, yo. Didn't even get frequent flyer points for that or nothin'."

So, so worth the trip.

"What kinda prize? There's the question there, yo."

"Iiiiiiiiii don't know," Rikku said sweetly, looking up at Dojima innocently and back at the two boys. "You deserve something really special, for all that work. You have anything nice in mind?"

Romeo tried to look as sweet as possible. "We could buy you everything you tried on and liked," he suggested. "Unless you've a better offer in mind."

"I think the reward ought to be in proportion to the effort," Dōjima purred, smiling at Romeo. "It sounds like you're rewarding us for being difficult, since I'm rather sure we didn't provide directions. Not that I mind."

"Still, I'm sure I could throw in dinner, at least."

"I'm rewarding you," he told her, stepping rather closer, "for challenging us, and getting us away from Antarctica, and being as beautiful as you are. But if you feel the need to reward me in return, dinner and seeing you in that is more than payment enough."

He also kind of wanted to take everything off, very slowly, but that could wait.

"Reno doesn't want me to cook," Rikku giggled. "Unless you meant paying for dinner. I can do that. There's gotta be a hotel nearby with room service, right?"

He'd been such a terrible influence on her.

Really, he was lucky she didn't add the clause about having to pull the laces out with his teeth, out loud.

Reno was perhaps even more forward than the others, here.

"Well, that is what hotel rooms are for, ain't it? Bein' serviced?"

Someone had to say it. Honestly. And it just happened to be Reno, as he leaned up against the doorframe.

He owed Rude. He owed Rude big.

Dōjima snickered and shook her head. "Hopeless, Red, hopeless."

"If you boys don't mind, I need to change into something less comfortable. I'm getting a little chilly." She pouted out her lower lip slightly, batting her eyelashes. "Since you're so clever, why don't you find us a set of hotel rooms while you wait? I don't think I want to go all the way back to school tonight."

"I can take charge of that," Romeo volunteered, probably a bit too eagerly. He added, "I'm the only one who speaks French, thanks to the whims of the stone angels."

No point mentioning his other reason, which was that he was more used to dealing with hotel staff than Reno would be.

"I'll go down the block, we passed a hotel," he added, leaning in for a kiss from Yurika. "Leave your things at the counter and I will pay when I return."

He walked backwards as he left, just to fix the picture in his mind.

"The only French I speak is asking for my lawyer, and what Rikku said earlier," Dōjima confessed, laughing as reached out to kiss Romeo soundly. "Be sure to get Rikku and I a nice big suite, okay?"

What? Just because the boys found them, didn't mean she had to play nice.

"You girls don't mind if I crash the party, do you?" Reno leaned forward in the hopes of getting a better view. "Two's a party, yo. Just imagine what three could be like."

He was teasing, of course. He was quite happy with two. Him and his girl. Romeo could have Doji.

Unless there was more kissing to be had between the girls. He'd totally stick around for more of that.

"Are you saying I'm not enough for you?" Rikku said, pouting very prettily. And deliberating twisting his words, yes. "How awful. I'll have to unlace this all by myself and put my real clothes on and walk home. And not have hot bitey sex with anybody at all tonight."

She glanced over at the other blonde. "Unless I get to steal you for a quickie before Romeo gets back."

"A quickie?" Dōjima smirked at Reno before leaning over to brush a chaste little kiss on the other girl's hair. "No way. He'll just have to wait."

"You're gonna keep the door open, right?"

Reno was not gape-mouthed.

Much.

"Or at least take pictures. You gotta take pictures, yo."

Rikku shook her head, sadly, standing up straight to shut the door. "We should make moaning noises while we change," she said. "Honestly. Boys."
