Raven Flats, the offices of the STN-J. Tokyo, Japan, Friday Afternoon

"Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiichael~kun!" Dōjima was possibly throwing a tantrum that would make the most spoiled Kardashian proud. "Why haven't you gotten me the files on the teleporter yet? I asked for them yesterday, and I can't move forward with the case unless you upload them to my phone! I'm not some genius who can guess your passwords!"

Michael just looked at her blankly. "Dōjima, have you been in the coffee again? You know you're not supposed to have any."

"Teleporter. Lee. Files. Now!" she yelled, pitching a pencil at his head from her desk. "Stop playing your stupid MMOs and focus! Even with Karasuma-sama back in the field, I don't have the time to sit here and wait for you to finish your raiding! Play after-hours, I got a boyfriend I want to go home and take advantage of sometime this century."

"Too much information," Sakaki groaned, covering his ears. "Michael, she's actually working for once, just give her the upload."

"Guys, I seriously do not know what you're talking about," Michael protested, spreading his hands. "I don't have any files on any teleporter."

"....dude, the Chief briefed us about it and assigned the case to Dōjima yesterday, man," Haruto replied, frowning slightly. "How can you forget that fast? Just cross-reference the notes from the staff meeting and pull them up."

Michael threw up his arms. "Check the notes yourself! There's nothing there about a teleporter!"

Sakaki and Dōjima exchanged a worried glance, and he wandered over to Michael's desk as she spun her chair to face the far office. "CHIEF! WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE TELEPORTER I'M TRACKING? AND WHY ISN'T AMON DOING DOING IT AGAIN?"

Kosaka's red face popped out from the door. "Miss Dōjima! This is not some American sporting event where we just yell whenever we feel like it! You are at work, conduct yourself professionally, and stop pranking me!"

....yeah, Yurika was going to pull out her cell-phone and call in Karasuma and Amon. Because this wasn't worrisome at all.

While she was doing that, her boyfriend -- who very much wanted to be taken advantage of, sometime this century -- had convinced the guard to let him in again and was now heading from the elevator to the STN office block. It was his birthday, and he'd gotten out of class early that day because … well, he wasn't sure why. No one seemed to understand which professor he was asking after. Language and cultural barriers still tripped him up, even after years in this country.

He tossed a grin into the boss's office, as the man had long since gotten used to the Montague tendency to walk into every public space as if he owned it, before sauntering over to Yurika's desk. "Pray don't tell me you need to work late again."

"That depends," she hedged as she hung up with Karasuma. "Apparently, no one but the Hunters remember the case I am assigned to right now. The Chief, Michael, Hatori... they don't have my files, and there's nothing in the computer. Karasuma says the police officials that forwarded us the case in the first place are either playing dumb or totally clueless too."

"So, technically, I could leave right now since I don't have an open Hunt." Which was very, very wrong for all the wrong reasons.

"Technically," Romeo repeated, musing it over. "Are the missing memories something you should investigate instead?"

He was impatient to just go, but he had no desire to get himself barred from the office for showing that. Besides, it was troubling him.

"It does seem as though the world's become far more forgetful in the last few weeks, doesn't it?"

"Michael's checking the STN databanks for a Witch that can remove the memories of normal humans, but beyond that? We don't even know where to begin, or why they would pick particular cases," she sighed, giving a shrug and reaching for her coat. "Let's go, aijin. There's nothing else I can do here today, so let's go enjoy your birthday."

'While we can' remained unspoken. Yurika couldn't promise that her phone wasn't going to go off in the middle of the night and pull her away. Something was rapidly coming to a head, but what, she did not know.

"We should go to Fandom," Romeo said, going to help Yurika with her coat. He understood that unspoken thought as well as she did, and liked it not at all. He was always afraid the day would come when she'd have to leave for … longer. Far longer.

"Just for a day, perhaps three. It's such an odd place that perhaps they know why odd things are happening," he added, so lightly you might almost think he was joking if you didn't know him well enough to mark the frightened look in his blue eyes.

Yurika glanced at him with an appraising light in her eyes. "Good idea," she answered, giving him a genuine smile. "Call Reno too, and see if we can hire some Turks to check into things. Tricky stuff is their business, after all."

"First, however, lunch for a birthday boy, then we'll book the portal." Yurika grinned and reached out to snag him by the collar of his shirt and drag him towards the door. "I think I have a few presents for you."
